Select Tools | Accounts… from the menu in Outlook Express.
Click Add.
Now select Mail….
Enter your full name—or what you want to appear in the From: line when you send mail from the Windows Live Hotmail account—under Display name:.
Click Next >.
Enter your full Windows Live Hotmail address (something like "example@hotmail.com") under E-mail address:.
Click Next >.
Make sure IMAP is selected under My incoming mail server is a __ server.
Type "imap-mail.outlook.com" in the Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server: field.
Enter "smtp-mail.outlook.com" under Outgoing mail (SMTP) server:.
Click Next >.
Enter your full Windows Live Hotmail address under Account name: ("example@hotmail.com", for instance).
Type your Windows Live Hotmail password (or an application password) in the Password: field.
Click Next > again.
Click Finish.
Highlight imap-mail.outlook.com in the Internet Accounts window.
Click Properties.
Go to the Servers tab.
Make sure My server requires authentication is checked under Outgoing Mail Server.
Go to the Advanced tab.
Make sure This server requires a secure connection (SSL) is checked under both Outgoing mail (SMTP): and Incoming mail (IMAP):.
Type "587" under Outgoing server (SMTP):.
If the number under Incoming server (IMAP): has not been changed to "993" automatically, enter "993" there.
Click OK.
Click Close in the Internet Accounts window.
Now, select Yes to download the list of Windows Live Hotmail folders to Outlook Express.

To set up IMAP access to your Windows Live Hotmail service using IzyMail:
Make sure your Windows Live Hotmail or MSN Hotmail account is registered with IzyMail.
